Review: Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes VS. Lights, Camera, Flashes

Hi beauty lovers! I have been using Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes! for years. I spent many years searching for the best mascara, and I stopped searching when I discovered Lights, Camera, Lashes!. It makes my lashes long and thick, and people often ask if I am wearing false lashes. I am addicted to this mascara. My eyelashes don’t look clumpy, and the mascara doesn’t take a long time to remove. When I heard that Tarte recently created a new mascara, Lights, Camera, Flashes, I was very excited because I thought maybe it would be just as good as my favorite, and possibly even better. It is $4 more expensive than Lights, Camera, Lashes!, and the description makes it sound like an improvement on the original. The description of Lights, Camera, Lashes!, is “A lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning mascara” and the description of Lights, Camera, Flashes, is “An amped up, ultrablack mascara that lengthens, curls and magnifies lashes for an intensified look, while instantly increasing lash volume by up to 752 percent.” It sounds like Lights, Camera, Flashes is the better deal, right? Well..after using it, I realize it is not as good. It is not even close. My first time using it, which was 2 days ago, I thought it was great. Later on at night, however, I had such a difficult time taking off the mascara. It took 2 makeup remover wipes, one cotton ball with makeup remover, and a ton of water to finally remove all of the mascara. There was one huge clump that I couldn’t get rid of. Yesterday, I decided to give it a second try. I had the same issue. It was extremely difficult to remove the mascara, and it made my lashes look clumpy and spidery. My mom even said so, and she has never had anything but positive things to say about my lashes and mascara. Also, I went to open it today because I used Lights, Camera, Lashes! on one eye, and Lights, Camera, Flashes on the other (to show you all the difference between the two), and when I opened Lights, Camera, Flashes, the top just broke off. It was only my third time using it, and the top actually broke off! For anyone who is interested in a great mascara, I highly recommend Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes! but I do not recommend Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Flashes. I was disappointed, but I am glad I tried it. Please take a look at my photo’s below, and let me know if you can see the difference! It is a lot more noticeable in person, but I think you will get the gist of it. I hope you enjoyed this review! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter, @Glamvasion ๐ XO!

Hmm, I can see the difference in the Flashes compared to the Lashes. I hate mascaras that clump and then don’t even come off easily! I definitely want to look into the Lights, Camera, Lashes for sure! ๐ Does it hold a curl well?
